Who we are
About this guide
An independent guide to recreational drone rules, written from official sources.
What this site is
Drone Rules by State is an independent editorial project published by Atelier Jerz. It explains where and how people in the United States may fly small drones for recreation. We are not connected to the FAA, to any park agency or to any drone manufacturer.
What we do not do
Nothing is sold here. There are no product listings, no affiliate links, no rankings and no sponsored recommendations. We do not offer legal advice; we summarize published rules and point you to the agency that wrote them.
How we check facts
- Official pages only. Each rule is taken from the website of the agency responsible — the FAA, the National Park Service, the Forest Service, or the state park agency concerned.
- A link beside every rule. You can open the source and read the wording yourself.
- A date on every page. Pages state when the rules were last read. The current edition reflects October 2026.
- No guessing. If an agency publishes no clear statewide rule, we say so instead of filling the gap. That is also why our state table covers ten states rather than fifty.
Corrections
Rules change, sometimes quietly. If you find something out of date, write to [email protected] with a link to the current rule and we will update the page.
